What is SpareHolidays?+
SpareHolidays is a marketplace where travellers resell trips they can no longer use — flights, hotel bookings, vouchers, train and bus tickets, car rentals, cruises and full holiday packages — to other travellers at a discount. The original traveller recovers part of what they paid, and the buyer gets a cheaper trip. Think of it as a StubHub for travel.
Is it safe to buy travel from someone else on SpareHolidays?+
Yes. Your payment is held in Stripe escrow and only released to the seller after you confirm the booking was transferred into your name. Every seller is identity-verified through Stripe before they can list, every listing is checked by AI moderation, and you have a 7-day dispute window after completion. If the seller never transfers the booking, you are refunded.
How much can I save buying travel on SpareHolidays?+
Discounts vary by listing, but because sellers are recovering money on a trip they would otherwise lose entirely, prices are commonly 30–60% below the original retail price. Every fee is shown upfront on the listing card — there are no hidden charges added at checkout.
What does it cost to buy or sell?+
Listing is completely free for sellers. Buyers pay a transparent, tiered commission shown before purchase — 10% under €500, 8% up to €1,500, 6% up to €3,000, and 5% above. Sellers keep the full agreed price.
What happens after I pay — how do I get the booking?+
After you pay, your money sits safely in escrow while the seller transfers the booking to you through the airline, hotel or provider's official name-change process. Once you confirm you've received it, the payment is released to the seller. If you don't confirm within 72 hours of the travel date, it auto-releases — and if anything goes wrong, the dispute window protects you.
