Family run holiday lets in a rural hamlet within the Lake District National Park.

 SPECIAL OFFER!

Exceptionally clean quality self-catering holiday accommodation in the rural hamlet of Redmain, 2 miles from Cockermouth, Cumbria.

The Hayloft has its own private entrance door with stairway leading to a large open plan living room with kitchen on one side.

There is a bedroom with a double bed and room for a cot, if required. A separate bathroom provides a bath with a power shower over and a toilet. French doors look out directly to the gardens.

The Hayloft is equipped with fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, colour TV, Freeview, DVD/CD player, radio, electric and heating included, linen, blankets, duvets, towels and power shower over the bath.

Sleeps two people plus baby.

All floors are polished pine with rugs and much of the original stone walls have been retained.

The upstairs ceilings are lofted with exposed beams.  There is also an iron and ironing board.  Windows look out onto the gravel courtyard by a lawned area with gently rising ground behind, recently planted with a small deciduous wood under planted with bluebells.

Some games and books are provided for all guests to enjoy.

A single pet is welcome provided it is kept under control and must be kept off the furniture and out of the bedrooms to help those with allergies.

Pets must not be left unattended at any time in the cottage. You must "scoop the poop".

Free, secure storage is available for those with bikes, but you will need to notify us how many.

There is also a wildlife pond and a formal herb garden, a small orchard, wild flower meadow and three outdoor barbecues.

On your arrival there will be enough tea, coffee, sugar and basics like soap and washing up liquid to get you started.

Wifi wireless broadband access point and internet access cable (Cat 5 Network) for connection to your own computer equipment. Broadband is charged at an extra 15 per week or short break stay.  Please note that use of this Wifi Broadband is based on the guest’s basic use for email and browsing the Internet.  Usage on our monthly bandwidth is limited and it is, therefore, not possible to make heavy downloads such as video and music without incurring extra charges.  We use software to track online use, and hold the right to charge extra for any heavy downloads.  We thank you for your co-operation.

The Hayloft is for Non-Smokers only.

In 1999 the Solway Rural Initiative, a local agency which was set up to protect and enhance the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, invited businesses to take part in the Solway Greens Award Scheme.

This scheme was designed to encourage environmental awareness and provides a checklist of requirements to aid the environment.  It is a fairly lengthy form and certainly makes you look at what you are doing and what you can do to ensure your business has less impact on the ecology of the area.

There are three levels of award - the Bronze, Silver or Gold Oystercatcher, depending on the overall score and long term commitment to environmental improvement. We are very proud to say that we were awarded a GOLD!!!!

The only self-catering establishment to win the gold award!!!!! We are, and always have been, committed to the reduction of needless waste and endeavour to re-use or recycle wherever possible.

We have a recycling area where all glass, tins, paper, cardboard and plastics are placed. We make sure that it is all then recycled.  We also have a compost heap for organic recycling. We are now in the process of making a large wormery for compost making, which we thought might be fun!   The vast majority of water comes from rain - including the well, which is used for the garden. No pesticides or insecticides are used, and we positively encourage a wildlife habitat.

We are committed to the retention of local old varieties of fruit, flower and vegetable wherever possible.
